In an effort to get more creative and, improve my ideas ‘muscle’, I am committing to publishing an idea every day for 30 days straight.

Here are the rules:

  1. Publish 9am every morning for 30 days. No Stopping.
  2. Ideas can be about anything. Business, career, purpose, society, politics, technology, environment…
  3. But must combine two previously unrelated ideas. 1 + 1 = 3.

So, day 1. Bit late on publication, need to get better at organisation in the morning. But the ambition is still to publish by 9am.

OLD IDEA 1: Word Clouds

OLD IDEA 2: Job Hunting; Job Description and CV Key Word Matching

NEW IDEA: A simple web application job seekers can use to, visualize, and check that their tailored CV matches the key words in a job description.

Five Whys:

  1. With emerging use of AI by recruiters to sift CV applications it is increasingly important for job seekers to hit the key words in job descriptions in their CVs applications.
  2. Currently there is no quick and easy way to check key word match between JD and CV.
  3. Word Clouds are a great qualitative visualization tool, that highlight prominent words in any text.
  4. By running both the JD and the CV through a word cloud tool, it is possible to see how well the two documents match.
  5. Currently this is a fiddly process with existing word cloud tools, and not tailored to this particular application. It would be useful to have a go to tool to be able to do this comparison quickly and easily.

Question: What do you think to my first of 30 ideas? Good? Bad? Indifferent?
